How To Enable Network Security in a Tplink Router?

Posted on June 16, 2018November 30, 2019 by Tplinklogindotnet

A tplink router stores various advanced and basic settings in its web-based setup page. These settings help in securing the home network from unauthorized access. In order to protect the home network, a tplink router user needs to access the settings page of the router. A tplink wifi router comes with an easy web interface login process which simplifies the router setup process too. To setup a tplink router you would need router’s default web address, tplinkwifi net web address, or an IP address 192 168 0 1 for completing wireless setup. You have to use the addresses individually. If Tplink router’s default web address isn’t displayed on the Tplink router login page, use router’s default IP address. No matter which address you use, you need to access router’s admin panel. Once you reach Tplink router’s admin panel, visit its advanced setting panel. Know how to enable network security in tplink router via below given steps.

Steps To Enable Network Security in a Tplink Router

By enabling Network security in your Tplink router, you can protect the home network from cyber attacks and unauthorized users. Protect your home network against DoS, allow & block specific client devices & avoid ARP spoofing & ARP attacks. So, we will start now the implementation of Network Security in a Tplink router.

Protect Your Home Network from Cyber Attacks

  •    First login to your web-based management page by using Tplink router’s default web address tplinkwifi net.
  •    If the default web address doesn’t work, enter router’s default IP address 192 168 0 1 for wireless setup into the browser’s address bar.
  •    Now provide Tplink router’s default Username & password that you have set for your router.
  •    Visit Advanced settings panel, Security & then the settings.
  •    Next enable the DoS Protection & set the level appropriate to you, Low, middle or high.

With DoS Protection, the home network can be protected from cyber attacks and traffic can be validated while it is passing through the router. By default, DoS Protection remains enabled.

Enable Access Control

Let your Tplink router allow or block any particular device from accessing your home network. You can add devices to blacklist or Whitelist. The blocked device will remain in the blacklist and allowed device in the Whitelist.

  •    Once again, login to your router’s web-based management page by using the default web address tplinkwifi net.
  •    Visit Advanced panel, then Security next go to Access Control.
  •    Enable Access Control & choose access mode to either block or allow.

By following the given steps, you can allow or block devices from accessing the home network.
